6th Annual 5k Virtual Walk/Run

We invite you to participate in the 6th Annual Andrew Izzo Memorial Virtual 5k Run/Walk!

Due to the complications of COVID-19, social distancing, and the many issues happening in the world today, we are holding a virtual event and asking for “A Different Kind of Donation”.

When:
September 18th - October 1st, 2020 (that’s 2 weeks!); September is Suicide Awareness Month, so choose a time that works for you, sign-up, and participate.

How:
This year, perform your version of a 5K - in your community, on the course of your choice, with whoever you are comfortable with while keeping in mind the importance of taking care of each other, talking about sensitive issues, letting people know they are not alone, and ultimately bringing suicide awareness out of the shadows.

Cost:
“A Different Kind of Donation” – Perform an “Act of Kindness” as payment to participate in the event! We are aware that many people are struggling due to job losses, reduced income, and increased expenses because of the ongoing pandemic. We are asking that instead of spending your money, you perform an Act of Kindness for someone who needs it in a thoughtful and caring way. Examples: help an elderly or sick neighbor who needs help around the house or yard; go for that normal walk you take but bring a bag and pick up some trash; send a card or care package to a military member; have coffee with a friend who is struggling with a problem; volunteer at a local food pantry…It might mean stepping out of your comfort zone but the rewards are absolutely worth it. There are so many creative ways to be nice, choose one and go with it. If you feel you want to, monetary donations are always welcome. Those that contribute a $25 donation when they register will receive a free t-shirt!*

The Race:
Register at runsignup.com

The week of the race we will send out an email how to print off your bib and send in your results.

*If you have completed your registration and you want order another t-shirt please send us an email. The shirts will be shipped after October 1st.
